Anti-Spam Policy

To protect our members and other individuals who receive our messages, we maintain a zero-tolerance spam policy. We only send commercial electronic messages (CEMs) from our servers in compliance with this Anti-Spam Policy.

What is Spam?

Spam is unsolicited commercial electronic messages, also known as junk mail, typically sent in bulk form. A CEM is spam if:
  • The recipient's personal identity and context are irrelevant because the message is equally applicable to many other potential recipients; and
  • The recipient has not verifiably granted explicit or implied, and still-revocable, permission for the message to be sent.

Many spam messages also contain false or misleading information.

When does ABCU send commercial electronic messages?

Affinity only sends CEMs in the following contexts:

  • You have explicitly informed us that you would like to receive such messages.
  • ABCU is responding to a request for information from you.
  • To communicate with you about your account, loan, or similar relationships with us.
  • To provide information that you are entitled to receive about products and services you have purchased from us.
  • You have provided your e-mail address to us, or have published your e-mail address, without placing any restrictions on its use.
  • You have an existing business relationship with ABCU.

How does ABCU protect you from receiving spam?

CEMs sent, or caused to be sent, from ABCU's servers do not:
  • Use or contain invalid or forged headers.
  • Use or contain invalid or non-existent domain names.
  • Employ any technique to otherwise misrepresent you.
  • Hide or obscure any information in identifying the point of origin or the transmission path.
  • Use other means of deceptive addressing.
  • Use a third party's internet domain name, or relay from or through a third party's equipment, without permission of the third party.
  • Contain false or misleading information in the subject line or otherwise contain false or misleading content.

ABCU does not knowingly do business with any company that participates in sending spam. ABCU does not sell or exchange your information. We do not permit or authorize others to collect, compile or obtain any information about our members, including but not limited to member e-mail addresses.

What if I no longer want to receive messages from ABCU?

All ABCU CEMs provide you with the abillity to unsubscribe or opt out of receiving CEMs from ABCU. When you unsubscribe using the links provided in our CEMs, your request will be processed as soon as possible, and no later than 10 days after you send the request.
